Shootout
This year the Seacoast Shootout Girls AAU Basketball
Tournaments will again be held in Durham, NH on the campus of the University of
New Hampshire, at the beautiful Whittemore Center. Durham is about ten miles
west of Portsmouth, NH on Route 4. The tournament committee has been running
these tournaments for nine years.
The sponsoring club for all three tournaments this year is
The Renegades, a co-ed AAU club from the Durham area. These tournaments
will be AAU sanctioned. The cost $425 for four guaranteed games. A deposit of
$195 will hold your place until final payment, which is due three weeks prior to
the tournament.
The Whittemore Center has five wooden courts with three
others across the street in the Lundholm Gym and another at the brand new Oyster
River High School, one mile away.
This is one of the nicest AAU venues in the Northeast.

Our first tournament is May 27-29. As in all of our
tournaments, Friday evening games are at the team’s option, and usually for
local teams. Teams traveling from out of the state may request a late morning
start on Saturday to facilitate their travel plans. The May tournament is open
to all levels.
The Gold tournament on the weekend of June 3-5 is
designated for A and B level teams. Teams that enter and play competitively in
their state tournament should get some good competition at this tournament.
Teams that have qualified for national level tournaments, such as AAU Nationals,
may opt to play up an age level if they feel it is appropriate. High school age
level teams will likely play later games on Saturday due to SAT testing.
The Silver tournament is two weeks later, June 17-19, and
is for B and C (local) level teams. For some teams, this may be their final
tournament of the season.
For the first time, we will provide t-shirts to team
members of any team that has gone 4-0 in the tournament. If a team plays in
two, or all three, of our tournaments the t-shirts will only be given out for
the first time they go 4-0. After that they will receive medals.
If you are traveling from outside the area we will provide
a hotel listing and directions upon receipt of your registration form and
deposit. If you are entering the Gold tournament you may want to make hotel
arrangements early because the Special Olympics are also at UNH on that weekend.
